FT Plus is the data controller for the processing described in this policy.
Scope
This policy applies to:
- FT Plus websites — ftplus.cz and related subdomains
- Here Shroom — the Here Shroom iOS app and hereshroom.ftplus.cz marketing site
Product-specific details are described in the sections below.
FT Plus Website (ftplus.cz)
What we collect
The FT Plus website does not have user accounts, comments, payments, newsletters, or contact forms. We do not intentionally collect personal data through the website.
Standard web infrastructure may process basic technical data needed to deliver the site: IP address, requested URL, time of request, browser user agent, and error logs.
Cookies and analytics
ftplus.cz does not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party analytics.
Purposes and legal basis
Technical data is processed for our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving the website. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising profiles.
Processors and hosting
The site is hosted on cloud infrastructure. We aim to use infrastructure within the European Economic Area where practical. Infrastructure providers process technical data as necessary to provide hosting, security, and delivery services.
Retention
Technical logs are kept only as long as needed for operations and security. Specific retention periods depend on infrastructure providers. Logs may be retained longer if required by law or to investigate abuse.
Here Shroom App
Here Shroom is currently in internal testing via TestFlight and is not yet publicly available. This section describes how the current TestFlight build and its backend actually handle data.
What the app does
Here Shroom is a mushroom foraging companion app that lets you log finds, save locations, and keep notes about your foraging trips.
Data you create in the app
When you use Here Shroom, you may create and store:
- Foraging records: Trips (start and end times, distance), finds with species categorisation, abundance, notes, and timestamps
- Location data: GPS coordinates of finds, and optionally a GPS route of your trip
- Photos: Pictures of your finds
- Feedback: Messages you send us through the in-app feedback form, including a contact email if you choose to provide one
Local storage and server synchronisation
Here Shroom stores your data on your device first and works fully offline. However, the app is not local-only: when your device is online, it automatically synchronises your trips, finds, photos, and app settings to FT Plus servers so your data is durably backed up. Synchronisation is part of how the app currently works; there is no switch to turn it off entirely.
Data synchronised to our servers is stored per user and is not visible to other users:
- Trip records, find records (including species categorisation, abundance, and notes), and photo metadata are stored in cloud database tables scoped to your account.
- Find coordinates are encrypted at rest on the server and are returned only to you.
- Photos are stored in private cloud storage that is not publicly accessible. Location metadata (GPS EXIF) is removed from photos on the server before they are stored.
- App settings (such as your recognition-improvement choice and subscription status) are stored with your account.
Some data never leaves your device:
- GPS trip routes (breadcrumb tracks): if you enable route recording, the recorded route stays on your device only and is never uploaded. Only the trip's total distance is synchronised.
- Device preferences: the route-recording toggle and the Apple Health logging toggle stay on your device.
Account and identity
You do not have to register to use Here Shroom. On first launch the app generates a random identifier that scopes your synchronised data. You can optionally use Sign in with Apple to link your data to your Apple account. When you sign in, your device sends an Apple identity token to our server, which verifies it against Apple's public keys; the token itself is not stored. What we keep is only Apple's anonymous per-app user identifier, mapped to your Here Shroom user identifier — we do not request or store your name or email address.
Photos and mushroom recognition
When you ask the app to identify a mushroom from a photo, the photo is sent to FT Plus servers for processing. Location metadata is stripped from the image before processing, and the suggestions returned to you contain no location data. Recognition currently runs on FT Plus infrastructure; photos submitted for identification are not sent to any external AI service.
By default, the copy of a photo submitted for identification is discarded after processing. This is separate from your foraging record: if the same photo is attached to a find, that photo is still uploaded and kept as part of the normal synchronisation described above. If you turn on the optional "Help improve recognition" setting, submitted identification photos (with location metadata removed) may be kept, linked to your account, to improve the recognition model. You can turn this off at any time, which stops further retention; photos already retained are not automatically deleted, but you can ask us to delete them (see Your rights).
Community map contributions
You can choose, per trip, whether the trip's finds may contribute to an anonymous community map of mushroom activity. Trips contribute nothing unless you explicitly mark them as contributing, and you can change a trip's choice at any time.
Your choice is recorded with the trip, but community aggregation is not currently enabled: no community map data is built or shared today. Before we switch community aggregation on, we will update this policy to describe exactly how contributed locations are anonymised.
Analytics and crash reporting
The app contains no third-party analytics or crash-reporting frameworks. During TestFlight testing, Apple's standard TestFlight infrastructure may collect crash reports and usage data according to Apple's privacy terms.
Third-party services
- Apple: Sign in with Apple (optional sign-in), TestFlight (distribution), MapKit (map display — Apple processes map requests under Apple's privacy policy), StoreKit (subscription verification), and Apple Health if you enable trip logging (the app only writes to Health; it does not read your Health data).
- Microsoft Azure: FT Plus runs the Here Shroom backend and stores synchronised data on Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.
Retention
Synchronised data is kept on our servers until it is deleted. We do not currently apply automatic deletion periods; you can request deletion of your data at any time (see Your rights).
International transfers
FT Plus is based in the Czech Republic (EU). We aim to use infrastructure within the European Economic Area where practical. If we engage processors outside the EEA, we will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place as required by applicable law.
Security
We aim to use appropriate security measures to protect data. For Here Shroom, data stored on your device is protected by your device's built-in security features. Data synchronised to our servers is sent over encrypted connections, stored scoped to your account, and find coordinates are additionally encrypted at rest. Photos are kept in private storage that is not publicly accessible.
Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — correct inaccurate personal data
- Erasure — request deletion of your personal data
- Restriction — limit how we process your data
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Portability — receive your data in a portable format
For Here Shroom, note that copies of your synchronised data exist on our servers, so managing or deleting data on your device does not by itself remove the server copies. The app does not yet include built-in controls to export or delete your server-side data; until it does, contact us (see Contact below) to access, export, or delete the data we hold about you, including any photos retained under the "Help improve recognition" setting.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů) or your local supervisory authority.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when we change how we handle data or release new products. Material changes will be noted with a new "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For Here Shroom, significant changes may also be communicated through the app or TestFlight.
